View Full Version : In search of a LARGE bread machine
Anyone know if bread machines are manufactured in large capacity sizes? Say an 8 cup size for home use? TIA. Vicky

Most 2-lb bread machines have up to a 14-cup capacity (that's the volume of the pan, not the amount of flour used). I'm not aware of anything bigger (doesn't mean they don't exist, of course!)
Clara, my machine only accomodates 4 cups of flour for a 2lb. loaf. If I double that amount in the same machine, I am afraid the outcome would be all over the counter and the bread machine!! [I am reminded of the I Love Lucy episode thinking about this. Oh, I am dating myself} Vicky

A 2 lb loaf is the largest machine I have seen, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. How about just getting another bread machine so that you can bake two at a time. I know its more of a hassle that way, but I don't know if you can find what you are looking for w/o spending a lot of money.

Actually, I have seen a 2.5 lb Panasonic on Amazon.com, so they seem to be getting bigger.
