I've had them smoked, so I'd say yes.
Yes, season, steam in the oven and then grill. My DH loves this. Vicky

Visualize a Renaissance table, see those big burly guys chompin' down on the turkey legs?
Throw them on the smoker for a few hours. Cajun seasoning is our favorite!
Wallycat, Season them with whatever you like: salt, pepper, spicey seasoning and just rub it into the legs. I put them an a rack in a baking pan and add water to cover the bottom. Wrap tightly with foil. Bake about , what an hour at 350. Give them a poke to see if they are getting temder. I have done them on the stove in a strainer atop a simmering pot of water. I don't know what is worse in the summer, a pot of simmering water or the oven. Anyways, when done throw them on the grill with or w/out sauce. I do ribs the same way using the oven. Hmm, haven't made those legs for a long time. Just mught have to give them a try sometime. One year at the Taste of Chicago , we asked the vendor how the legs were cooked and he sid that they steamed them first. Vicky This is too long.

Vicky,
THANK YOU...no, it wasn't too long...it answered all my questions!!
I may steam them on top of the stop, or maybe even boil them at a simmer.....maybe BBQ sauce :D ;) later
Thanks so much for replying.

I'd forgotten about this VERY OLD recipe. I believe it came from Better Homes and Gardens. My DH really enjoyed it.

1/2 teaspoon paprika

I've never added the extra 2 tablespoons flour and the water. The juice is thin, but we're not into gravies.
Watch the size of your drumsticks. If they're larger than 2 pounds they need to be cooked longer or they are tough.
Can you believe MasterCook doesn't recognize turkey drumsticks?
