If anyone is in the market for a new springform pan, I found this deal on the Taste of Home site. They are selling a 9"D springform pan with a glass bottom for only $9.99. :)

Have you or anyone else ever tried a glass bottom spring form? Sounds like a good idea, because one of my older spring form pans that had a bumpy bottom, must have had aluminum in it, which started to react with my cheesecake crusts and I had to stop using it. I just might check that website out. Thanks.

Thanks for the tip!
I've looked at these - numerous times at BBB...but, have never made it to the checkout with one in my hand. Have you ever bought from Taste of Home? That is a great deal.

knunes-I don't have one yet, but I plan on buying one when we move back to the US soon. I have heard good things about them. :)

stieglitzcat-I haven't dealt with this company before. The link was on the Taste of Home website, but I believe that it is another company called Country Store selling the products.

This is a coincidence! I just bought a glass-bottom sprinform pan to replace a traditional springform pan (buckle popped off). I bought mine at Kitchen Etc. for $16.

I've only made one thing with it so far (CL's cinammon-apple cake) but it was a success. The added bonus is you can cut slices from the glass bottom without worrying about cutting a non-stick surface. I think this feature will be most useful when I make cheesecakes.

Hope that helps!

I have a springform with a glass bottom that I picked up last year at Home Goods. I love it! My old pan was rusting, so I was glad when the buckle broke and I had an excuse to buy a new one. With the glass bottom, it looks nicer on a cake plate, too!
