Help! My sister and I are hosting a mock thanksgiving dinner tonight. It's our first time cooking a turkey, and completely forgot about defrosting it. What is the fastest way to defrost my turkey? Thank you so much, you are a life saver!!

Wow, I don't think you'll be able to defrost a turkey in time for dinner tonight. I usually defrost mine in the fridge for two or three days. You could try the cold water method of defrosting, but, depending on the size of the turkey, that could also take a couple of hours.

I agree with MrsReber, you may have to go back to the store and just buy a fresh one at this point!

I also agree you will have to go back and get a fresh turkey or turkey breast. Your post says a bit after 3 and even changing the water frequently to speed thawing it could be a while and... add to that the hrs in the oven.... http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif
