View Full Version : I made Houston's Hawaiian!

I finally got around to tinkering with the recipe someone found for me on copykat.com for the marinade for Houston's Hawaiian. For those of you who don't know, Houston's is a chain that has AWESOME steak that I get every time I go there (which is never, now that I live in New England!)

The original recipe had bizarre proportions, so I adjusted it until it tasted right. You should so the same, as my tastebuds might be different from yours (and I wasn't exactly measuring as I poured stuff in...these are estimates! Sorry!).

HOUSTON'S HAWAIIAN

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

6 ozs Apple Cider
8 ounces Pineapple juice
1/3 cup Soy sauce
1/4 cup Sugar
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 tsps minced fresh Ginger
2 steaks

let steaks marinate for 2-3 days in fridge.
Broil or grill to desired doneness.
also good with chicken.

I may try that on chicken this week. I absolutely love Houston's. DH and I go there whenever we can.

Thanks again for posting this marinade. We used it last night on filets and ribeyes and it was delicious. I only marinated the steaks for 8 hours and they were still very flavorful.
