Anybody have Beaujolais Nouveau plans?

With all of these wine drinkers on this BB I was just wondering if anyone has made plans for Beaujolais Nouveau parties or tastings this week?

My town has an event on Thursday sponsored by the local wine shop and French pastry shop, with French food and a band. Another part of town has a big event (even a parade!) on Friday.

marys-I noticed that you're from Cincinnati too. Where is this being held? Where can I get more info? I would love to go!

I live in Wyoming and they are having an event at the Wyoming Civic Center on Thursday. They said the deadline for tickets was the 12th, but they might still be selling them - you can call them at 513-821-5423. They're having a French country buffet and a cajun band.

The other event is in Mt. Adams on Friday night. There is info at cincinnati.com. It says they're even having a parade. Too Funny!

I'm not going to the Wyoming event (hubby is out of town and I haven't been able to talk any of my friends into it) I'm hoping to make it up to Mt. Adams. It should be a lot of fun.

mlou - Beaujolais Nouveau is celebrated as the 1st wine of the season. It is released at 12:01 am on the 3rd Thursday in November. There is even a live webcam at events in France. I can't remember the site, but you can get to it through cincinnati.com.
