View Full Version : Just a note to Moms of teens
After reading all the intros, many parents of teens mentioned how they keep getting dumber as their kids get older. Well, I used to be a teen (very long ago) and joked with my Mom about that the other day. I realized that now, the older I get, the smarter she's gotten. So, Moms, have patience. Someday you will again be smart, maybe even smarter than you thought you could be.

Bev, I am totally going through my stupid years with my 16 year old daughter! We do get a laugh every now and then about it, but for the most part I have accepted the fact that I'm not very smart now, and will in the next 8-10 years get a little smarter!
Thanks for the words from "the wise".

Bev,
Thanks for the words of advice. I am constantly asking my sister and SIL if they want my kids until they're 18-20 then I'll take them back, after all they've both been through the stupid years, why should I get to go through them as well. Any way it's just nice to know I'm not alone.
Thanks again Ann http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

My daughter is 11 so I am just a few years (at least I hope it is not sooner than that) from my stupid years. I have to tell a story though. When my daughter was around 7 I told her that she would turn 13 the same year I turn 40. I said "You not going to be one of those 13 year olds who never listens to their mom, thinks I am stupid and only believes what your friends tell you are you? Her response. "I don't know, maybe I will, maybe I won't" Yikes!!! If that was her response at 7 do I have any chance of surviving the early and mid teenage years?
