Actually, the correct name of the recipe is Steamed Japanese Eggplant with Spicy Green Onion-Ginger Sauce. Phew! A lot of words, but a great recipe! I couldn't find a review of this, so I thought I'd add my two cents.

I've never steamed eggplant before, usually I saute it or roast it in the oven. So I think I over-cooked some of the pieces, because they were a bit mushy. But the sauce was great, the spices along with the ginger was interesting and very tasty! I made this along with the Spring Vegetable Couscous and some sauted mushrooms (needed to use them up!) and had a wonderful mid-summer Saturday night veggie dinner.

A repeater, definitely!

I made this as a side dish for dinner tonight. Very yummy!! The sauce is terrific. The recipe says to steam the eggplant slices for 2 minutes but this was not long enough for my tastes. I steamed them for much longer. I like eggplant cooked...mushy is OK with me!:p Great eggplant recipe!
