We are leaving in a week and a half for a big road trip to Florida. I am planning on taking Kashi, juice and milk for breakfasts. I would like to take lunches too, so we are only eating dinner out. I am looking for easy to eat while driving foods. I have hummus, carrots, crackers and yogurt so far. HELP!! I have brain freeze and cant figure out what else to bring (keeping in mind I only eat seafood for meat).

Any ideas for me??
TIA

Peanut butter and whole grain crackers?

And individual cans of tuna are good and easy.

Hard boiled eggs might work, too.

Cheese to go with your crackers. Nuts and apples are easy to eat and travel well. We also like granola bars for long trips.

Ya know, when I was little and we drove from Indiana to Fla to visit Gramma, my mom would pack carrots, crackers, peanut butter and that cheese in a can stuff....I had an urge to take some of that for old time sake!

SSSHHHHHH, dont tell

I like to bring muffins on road trips. How about yogurt? They have that yogurt in a tube now that would be easy to eat. You can freeze it, too.

I was also going to say muffins or scones. Trail mix, tortilla wrap sandwiches, slim fast bars or luna bars, jello or pudding cups.

Oh yes, and a big trash bag!:D :D

Have a safe trip!

Bagels and peanut butter

Wrap sandwiches filled with flavored cream cheese and veggies.

Cheese curds or string cheese

I like grapes, apples and banannas in the car. Things you can eat without getting all sticky. But in case you do, it's always good to pack moist paper towels in a baggie. (I don't like the residue from Moist Towelettes.)

Have a safe trip!

Roasted veggies would be awesome for wraps for lunches. As would a lentil pate or some other type of spread.

I like to make cookies or bars to take on road trips -- something with dried fruit and whole grains seems most satisfying.

I'm also thinking that yogurt might be a nice addition.

MMMmmm, GORP!

I found this on a website (I think thru Neve Atlas)

Now that we don’t eat eggs, white sugar, and non-organic dairy products, restaurant breakfasts can be a challenge, if not impossible. Besides, I really don’t like having to get all dressed and ready before having anything to eat or drink. So in one large, lidded plastic box I packed a basic “breakfast kit,” which included:
· Aseptic containers of rice milk and chocolate soy milk
· Our favorite healthy cold cereals
· A couple of Fantastic Foods instant oatmeal-in-a-cup
· A small container of organic instant coffee
· Two types of tea
· A small container of organic raw sugar
· Two small jars of all-fruit preserves
· Peanut butter
· A small loaf of whole grain bread
· Natural cereal bars (not the supermarket kind)
· A few bananas

We took this up to our hotel room and it was more than enough for my husband, myself, and our two hungry, growing pre-adolescent sons until we got to our destination, where we stayed for nearly a week with (thankfully) a fully equipped kitchen. It was the first time I’d packed a “breakfast kit” and it worked out so well that now I wouldn’t leave home without it, unless we were going to be staying in a vegetarian-friendly Bed & Breakfast.

For the road trip itself, I packed smaller lidded boxes containing rice cakes, granola bars, trail mix, and other healthy, durable snacks that the boys could reach for when need be, and pass up to the front to their parents. We also started out with a cooler filled with fresh organic fruit and water, which we replenished at regular intervals along the way. the weather was hot and muggy so we made sure that there was some ice in the cooler at all times.

I am going to print for future reference!
