SusanL, I read your post on the potato-ricer thread about making wasabi mashed potatoes. Could you post your recipe, please? My husband LOVES wasabi (he used to steal my wasabi when I had sushi). I'd like to try them. Thanks! Happy Thanksgiving!

Barbara L - it is from entertaining 1,2,3 by Rozanne Gold and we think it is killer.
Unfortunately it cannot be made ahead of the meal, but I make it for company.I can understand why your husband takes your wasabi, I would take my husband's wasabi!

Vanessa- Great minds! I wonder what the difference is between using the Yukon/Russets? I will have to try yours!! Thanks!

2 lb Yukon Gold Potatoes
2 T wasabi powder
1 stick of unsalted butter

Wash, boil, and drain unpeeled potatoes in water, reserve 1/4 drained water.

Peel potatoes quickly in a large bowl and mash until smooth and creamy-I
used a potato riser.

Dissolve wasabi powder in 4 T cold water in a small cup, Stir until smooth
and add to potatoes.

Cut butter into small pieces and whisk it and the reserved drained water
into the potatoes to make them smooth and creamy. Add salt to taste, serve
immediately or reheat gently.
