Sorry Leigh, I just know you went ugh, when you saw this.:D
We managed to fix the side deck, but I still need to stain it. So that will be #1 on my list.
#2 Fix the sink, we never did it in June.
#3 Fix the front step that is loose.
Anyone else?

The deck is done, the deck is done, the deck is done!!!!!
Woo-Hoo!
I wish that was the only project that was at our house, but I am not taking on any more big projects for a while!
I think we are going to get a new kitchen sink as we have an enamel one and I dropped a bowl in it on Saturday and took a big chunk out of it! But, that will wait for a while. Is there a way to repair those chips? I was thinking about calling The Great Indoors or something to see, but maybe someone here knows.

Peggy - I must admit that I went "UGH!!" when I saw this post, but I'm glad you got it started! This month I need to start looking for new carpet for the family room and library and new linoleum for the downstairs computer room and bathroom. DH gave me the green light on these purchases in January but I have been too busy to shop around. OK - now it is in print so I'll have to begin the search!:p
Lara - Congratulations on finishing your deck! That's a big accomplishment!! I believe that you can get your sink repaired/refinished. I know I have seen people advertise at home shows but am not sure what direction to point you in.
Everyone - Good luck on meeting your monthly goals!

You're right. I did!
Well, I got the new wood parts (handle and tray) for the grill stained and polyurethaned. I went to install them, but discovered I needed one more piece for the tray and two other little ones to attach everything. So we installed all but one so DH can get the shop at work to make the ones we need. But, it is nice to have a handle that's attached in 2 places instead of one and the tray.
I (not DH) put back all the brackets for the blinds. He still hasn't put up all his tools.
We have a leaky toilet, no he didn't fix it while I was at work yesterday like he said he would. But, he took the DDs to the pool so he's forgiven.
This month I want to finish painting Ginger's blinds, and I may try to paint the sunroom windows. Which are all that's remaining of our exterior painting. I still have to check the budget to see if I can redo the girls bathroom this month (about $50 is all I need), but I have the interior trim paint so I may do that anyways.
I also need to fix one shelf in the storage closet. How a shelf with only empty boxes on it collapsed is beyond me!
DH plans on borrowing someone's truck to take the old windows, dishwasher (from jan) and old TV (from last year) to the dump. YEAH! That, of course, means I'll need to rearrange the storage closet. I think I have some other things that are dumpable as well.
I also need to start pricing baby clothes to sell, and go through some of my and DH's stuff for good will.

Ugh, you reminded me. No baby clothes, but some garage sale stuff that has been sitting around since we moved into our house last fall. Garage Sale August 2 - need to go through stuff.
Blech. At least that is a relatively small project.

Project List Support Group.
Actually, think it was Lindrusso's idea, but I haven't seen her around here.
I'm just wondering that since we all go 'ugh' when we see/think of this thread why do we keep starting it?!?!

ugh!
June was a good month for us. We completely redid the kitchen walls (texure and paint) and replaced the countertops and sink. You would think that earns us a break. (Especially on the heels of redoing both the bathrooms, repainting and texturing the whole inside, tiling the kitchen floor, having new carpet installed, getting a new driveway and re-stuccoing the house. All done June- Dec last year) BUT NO!!!! Here is the project list for this month.
#1 Take all junk from old remodeling jobs to the dump, thus cleaning out the left side yard.
#2 Clear out right side yard of weeds and gravel that previous owner put down for new shed.
#3 Run circuit for electricity out to right side yard for shed light.
#4 Hire someone to deal with the front and back flower beds.
#5 Begin scheming and hinting to DH about putting a deck in the backyard so that we may do it before next summer.
#6 Plant 2 trees in front yard. (I am thinking smaller lemon trees)
OOPS forgot #7 Fix backyard sprinklers that were briken when they tore out the driveway and broke the line that fed them.

Well, I do have 3 days off this month for working weekends so I'll have lots of time without the girls.
Besides, the interior painting isn't bad in small jobs since the paint only takes 1 hour to dry.
Remember, I didn't say I have done, or even will do, all the things on my list.
Don't get me started on the broken sprinkler system, new front door, etc.

Well, my list just rolls over month to month and some of them are real easy "call someone" to do it things. (Yeah, cuz I'm lazy like that)
Relisticly only #s 2,3 and 6 will get done this month....and then only because we have already ordered the new shed and it HAS to be done before it is delivered on the 19th.

Ok, it's my turn to make Peggy C. go UGH!
I got Ginger's blinds taken apart and primed, but haven't gotten them painted yet. I really need some spraypaint.
I also haven't done any outside painting, or pricing of baby clothes. Maybe next week.
BUT:
DH fixed the toilet, yeah!
DH also made two trips to the dump this morning. A coworker with a truck came over and they took the stuff together. We have a few window sashes in DH's SUV and he has permission to put them in the dumpster at work.
I also fixed the shelf in the storage closet that fell down.
Got the storage closet (in the garage) and the garage swept out and reorganized. It feels like I have a whole new garage!!
I also swept the driveway today. All those acorns make it difficult to walk outside barefoot.

Well.....
We got about 1/2 of the stuff that needed to go to the dump out of the side yard.
The electricity is run out to the new shed that sits on the clean side-yard that was leveled last weekend.
I am working on convincing DH to plant lemon trees in the backyard, but he is worried they will be messy.
We decided instead of building a deck in the back to extend the concrete slab area and put a trellis over it. I will have to make the appointment with the concrete guys soon.
But the bonus was that thanks to the new shed DH has cleaned and organized the garage and storage shed that we rent (so that we can STOP renting it) and has thrown out a lot of stuff that we didn't need. YAY!

I don't chime in here very much, but I thought I would just let you know how LITTLE progress we have made this month, so maybe you can take a litte more satisfaction with your accomplishment!!!:(
DH invited a retired history professor and his wife, a retired German language professor, to stay with us last weekend while the history prof received an award at a luncheon at UW-M. I made out a long list of relatively minor plumbing things before the beginning of July and said, "Call a plumber and take care of this before your guests arrive." (DH is a college prof and does not work in the summer -- I do.) Days went by, weeks went by, I finally asked, "Did you call someone?" Answer: "No. The last time I called our plumber for something minor he said, 'you don't really want to pay me to do something that simple.'" I replied: "Call a different plumber."
Long and short -- no call, no work. DH DID manage to dump an entire bottle of Draino down the sink in the downstairs bathroom, but all the rest of the annoyances are still with us.
I won't even begin to describe the condition of the back yard. Suffice it to say it is being overrun by invasive weeds that are at the edge of my fern garden and DH throws his hands up in the air (ala Bud Selig at the all star game -- sorry, topic of another thread I could start but won't).
We have two wooden decks that haven't even been cleaned, let alone stained, in three years, so you can imagine what they look like. On the positive, we did some re-landscaping in the front yard last year and DH has managed to keep it watered, so at least ONE piece of our yard looks better than the neighbor's! It's awfully dry here, and the suburban areas with bigger yards look pretty stressed.
I could go on, but it will just get my blood pressure up. And no, it's going to be beastly hot with unbearable humidity tomorrow, so I am going to the gym, then to the pool, then spend some time making a nice dinner! What is summer for, if not to have fun? (Definitely DH's motto!):p

I had to go walk around my amazingly clean and empty garage. Ok, not empty, but it sure feels that way. There's so much room. :o :o  :D :D

Ugh, is right! I haven't stained the porch yet, but I really need to. The problem with that is it is our main way in and out of the house and also the way we let the dog out, so I have to beable to do it when it has plenty of time to dry. I had the same dream 2x that the quick fix John did on the kitchen garbage disposal is not going to last much longer, so hopefully he'll do that before I end up with water flooding out of the cabinet. And we were supposed to have this mason look at the front steps and our chimney, but drove by and said the chimney was to high for him to work on...so we're back to square one on that!
