I made this earlier in the week. It is pretty good, but very similar in taste to the brown sugar pound cake recipe from a few months ago. The butterscotch taste is very subtle. However, between the two, I would probably make the butterscotch cake again first.

Has anyone else tried it? Different opinions?

I made this cake last Sunday. The whole cake is still sitting on the cake plate, with two slices missing. Myself and my husband. As you can guess we did not care for it. I thought it was really dry, and hardly any butterscotch flavor to even speak of. I will not be fixing this one again.

Awhile ago, I made the brown sugar pound cake for a family gathering... and although the cake was gobbled up I didn't think it was very tasteful... I was disappointed b/c when deciding which pound cake to make I read the blurp by the editors stating that the brown sugar one was their favorite...so I decided on that one thinking it must have been the best one of the lot.

I would not make it again.

I haven't tried the cake, but I did try the butterscotch pudding from the same section. I was pretty pleased. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, but it was tasty none-the-less. It was pretty sweet though.

I was planning on making the brown sugar pound cake this weekend, but do I gather from your post that it was only so-so? Which CL pound cake recipe would you recommend as the best?

I was also thinking of making the butterscotch bundt cake; thanks for the review. It does look like the brown sugar pound cake from April, which I thought was good but not awesome. I've made almost all of the pound cakes in that article, and I think our top 2 are the black and white (but other people were not so impressed in an earlier post) and the sour cream pound cake. That's my 2 cents, anyway.

I would recommend the Double Banana Poundcake from the poundcake issue. It got great reviews at my Bunko group. I thought it was far better than the Brown Sugar Poundcake. I wanted to try the Butterscotch one but now so sure now!

I made the butterscotch cake (Nov 2000) last weekend. It was really dry with not much butterscotch flavor. I guess I should have read all the posts here before making it! Anyway, I'm wondering if the 1/2 cup of cornstarch is a misprint... seems like it might be the cause of the dry texture. If anyone can help, that would be great. I'd love to have a good butterscotch bundt cake in my repertoire.
Thanks!
