I would really like your recommendations for lowfat poppyseed dressing. I like the fat-free one at Panera Bread but I want to make my own, especially since I am over 100 miles away from a Panera Bread location. I searched the recipe finder and found some good sounding salad dressings but no poppyseed. TIA

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon poppy seeds

1. Whisk together all the ingredients.

Yield: 16 servings

Per Serving (excluding unknown items): 42 Calories; 4g Fat (73.7% calories from fat); trace Protein; 3g Carbohydrate; trace Dietary Fiber; 0mg Cholesterol; 19mg Sodium. Exchanges: 0 Grain(Starch); 0 Lean Meat; 0 Fruit; 1/2 Fat; 0 Other Carbohydrates.

Thanks everyone! I went to the Panera Bread site and asked them for their recipe but I feel sure they will not reveal it. I also checked the secret restaurant recipes web site but did not find anything there either. I then e-mailed our state newspaper's food editor and she send me the following recipe. I thought I would share it in case anyone was interested. I won't be making it anytime soon (note the fat content and calories!). And I specifically asked for low fat; wonder if I had asked for lowfat, what would have I gotten?

Grapevine Pantryıs poppy-seed dressing

1/2 cup vinegar
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
2 cups vegetable oil
2 tablespoons poppy seeds

Combine vinegar, sugar and mustard in container of electric blender. Process on low while gradually adding oil. After thoroughly blending, add poppy seeds and stir until mixed through. Chill.
