Hi Guys,
This is an appeal to all you addicts and others out there to try to be more descriptive in your subject line. Please put what type of request it is first, the followed by description. For example, "Review: Spaghetti with pesto", or "Poll: What did you eat for dinner?" or "Need Recipe: Spaghetti with pesto" or "Need advice: How do I freeze basil?". You get the idea. I just opened one that I thought would be a recipe review but it was a request to get a recipe. Just a suggestion so we can more easily surf this board now that it is getting busy. That way you can decide which thread you may want to delve into. This would be especially nice for folks who may have slow computers. Just a suggestion! Kendra

I agree wholeheartedly! This board is really getting busy and it takes a lot of time to go through everything.

Good point -- and I have another suggestion, if I may...

I also agree with Kendra who said in another post that it's easier to navigate "specific" threads, rather than big general ones:

EXAMPLE:

REVIEW: APPLE CRISP
vs
OCTOBER REVIEWS

Now I suppose I'll have to get into the habit of using the message icons as well. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Kendra, thanks for the idea - I like it! I don't know how many threads I've started to read thiking they were something when they turned out to be something entirely different.

I also like the idea of specific recipe reviews. The generic "October Reviews" tend to get cluttered with alot of other stuff.

I'm in. Let's do it.

It's makes more sense.

I hope everyone reads your post.

Thanks,

Thanks Kendra! I will try to comply! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

My personal favorite is threads devoted, say, to recipe reviews from a particular article (e.g., Reviews: Oct. 2000 Crisps, or Feedback: Oct. 2000 Lebanese Recipes). That lets me focus on what I am interested in trying without there being separate threads for lots and lots of individual recipes in a particular issue. Is that kind of thread okay with you guys? If not, let me know and I will refrain from starting them! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Anyway, I am all for your idea! Thumbs up!

Kendra, thanks for posting something of thought of periodically.
My only deviation from the thread is that I like to see the "october reviews" threads as I usually make a list each month of good/bad. Keeping to the topic would be helpful. Perhaps the section type threads would cover my needs (eg. lebanese review), as suggested.

Kendra I think that's a great idea. But I do really like the "October Reviews". Maybe if people would comment on the recipes as opposed to how slow the mail runs then the thread wouldn't be so long.

Just bringing this back up to the top in case others have been away from the board like me. Great idea, Kendra, thanks!

Thought I would pop this back to the top for those newbies among us and those who may have missed it the first time around. I think this is a very useful idea that would be beneficial to all.

Thanks, Kendra! I also think as the board gets more busy we need to strike a balance between the wonderful warmth on the board and getting so chatty that it gets hard to follow a thread. For example, on many threads I notice people will reply just to say "I do that too!" or something. On the one hand this can give the board that great feeling of sitting around a kitchen table talking that so many people have praised it for, but on the other hand, it can make a long post even longer and a bit repetitive. I guess I'm just suggesting that each of us keep that in mind when we post.
