In preparation for a dinner party tonight, I decided I wanted to make a cheesecake. I have tried the CL chocolate silk and mocha fudge cheesecakes which were both unbelievable. They weren't too sweet which is always nice after a filling meal. So on my quest, I wanted a white cheesecake. I saw the CL snickers cheesecake on the website but am not a huge snickers fan. Although, it received good reviews. I took the recipe and transformed it into an oreo cheesecake. It was easy to convert. Let me just say how fantastic it came out. I think it is the best one I have made yet. My family and guests raved. It was light, not too sweet and creamy. I was a little skeptical about the cottage cheese. I highly recommend this recipe as well as changing the filling.

Just wanted to share my joy:D

Wow! That sounds so good!! I love oreo anything :) :o
I love adapting new things to old recipes and having them turn out even better. And I am with you on the snickers. They are OK, but not my favorites. I wonder if you could use Twix?

Jenstern,

Just bumping this up to ask a question.

I plan on making an Oreo Cheesecake soon and was wondering what your changes were.

Thanks.

Wow...this was such a good recipe. I had such great reviews. The only changes I made was to eliminate the snickers and sub. the oreos. I layed the separated the oreos and layered them on the bottom. Then added more filling and layered some more. I tried to re-assemble the oreo cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory.

If you need anything else, please let me know!

Good luck and Happy COoking!

Thanks Jenstern, so you just subbed the same weight amount as the snickers? I was thinking of eliminating the caramel too. Btw, do you think the crust was enough? 2/3 cup of crumbs seems like a small amount.

I'm going to try this in the next 2/3 weeks as a surprise for DH who loves Oreos.
