Rules the third house, the house of sisters, brothers and cousins

Geminis never get much time to sit down and eat a meal, or if they do, they are probably so busy talking that they don't stop long enough to eat much. People of this sign of the zodiac like to live in a constant whirl of excitement and spend their lives darting from one place to the next, if not physically then with the help of the telephone.

This is an air sign, which indicates a nature that loves to communicate, idealize, and intellectualize. Geminis are mentally very sharp people (rules by Mercury, the planet of the mind), who will apply pure reason to their work in the kitchen. They have an intellectual rather than physical response to food. They will reason out their failures rather than throw a tantrum, and they can work with an emotional detachment that you wouldn't find in a fire sign.

Acutally, you will be lucky if your Gemini friends have had much of a chance to cook you that wonderful meal they promised, and they may well resort to a Japanese takeout instead. Not that they would let on that they hadn't really cooked it; this sign of the zodiac is the trickster who has the ability to escape awkward situations with the greatest ease. It's also quite possible that they did cook it, because Geminis are such speedy workers (this is suggested by the swiftness of Mercury's flight), and what should take hours, a Gemini can rustle up in moments as if by magic.

The Gemini's kitchen will be full of pots bubbling with exotic ingredients, a whirlwind of activity full of people and action that would give any other sign a nervous breakdown. Geminis like to live on their nerves (Mercury rules the nervous system) and are capable of controling many simultaneous happenings.

Left to its own devices this sign of the zodiac would probably just grab a quick snack, but this is not often possible. Gemini, as well as being an air sign, rules brothers, sisters and cousins and Gemini homes are likely to be full of people needing food and drink. Actually Geminis are in their element surrounded by friends and family since they love to communicate, and always have plenty to say.

In the right mood this sign of the zodiac is quite capable of spending an entire day in the kitchen, experimenting with new dishes from different parts of the world (Mercury rules short distance travel.) And because the familiar will bore their tireless, inquiring minds, you are unlikely to get the same meal twice in this household. A failure is a possibility in their quest for novelty, but they are quick to learn and also very good with their hands (Geminis rules the hands). As a result they can make excellent cooks - the kind who will spend hours perfecting the smallest detail until they become technically very skilled.

Although this sign of the zodiac possesses a sharp business sense, Geminis like to spend money, particularly on fun things, and can be quite extravagant. If it's champagne that matches the mood of the moment, they will quite happily buy it, but more often a very chilled white wine, or a sparkling wine, is the right complement to the sharp and clean-tasting food that appeals to them. Don't miss an evening with a Gemini - it should have a touch of magic and be lighhearted and good fun.

I am working on getting all signs done. Just got off an hour-long teleconference.
It's just a cookbook that was given to me w/all the signs and it has recipes, etc. It's pretty neat. It's called A Taste of Astrology
