I received a notice from Amazon that is has free shipping for orders over $25. Before the threshhold was $49. They said that if this proves popular, they may institute it permanently after a 3 month trial.

Yeah, but what they don't mention right up front is that delivery times for that 'free shipping' are a lot slower than for regularly purchased/shipped orders. Phooey!

I just ordered some books from amazon..my total was $34.00 but because two of my books didn't "qualify" for the discount I had to pay shipping charges...boo-hoo...:( :confused:

I was going to say the same as Simmerdown. The free shipping only applies to certain things. I had about $75 in my cart, and it was telling me that if I ordered 50 cent more I would qualify for free shipping on two out of 5 of my items. So it really isn't quite as good of a deal as it sounds. Of course if you get all items that qualify it's great! Good luck...
