Instead of a cookie swap--you do an appetizer swap or a main dish swap? I'd love to do it, but having just moved here, I don't know a soul.

Anyway--it's a thought.

A coworker recently told me of a party that she was invited. All guests were asked to bring an appetizer along with copies of the recipe. The hostess asked the guests prior to the party what they were bringing to make sure that there was a good variety. She said that everyone really enjoyed sampling the different dishes.

Kristi, this is a great exchange, I had one 2 Christmas' ago and we all had a lot of fun. I worked at a winery at the time, so I got so really awesome wines to serve for everyone, and they supplied the appetizers along with the recipes. Have fun!!!

If you did not have too many people, you could bring those Ziploc, tupperware type containers with freezer portions. Everyone would go home with a few lunches or dinners for the freezer.
