Hi everyone. I know that some people on the BB have donated their hair for wigs. I wanted to know how I could go about doing this. I will be needing a haircut soon! I thought it had to be at least 4 inches (not a problem). I just want to know what I'd need to do before I go and cut any of my hair. Thanks!!

Susan

Thanks Sandy! After having 2 babies, life is a bit hectic. It's kind of hard to keep up with this hair. I can only imagine it'll get worse once I'm back at work next month. I'd love to be able to do something nice for someone in the meantime.

Yes, I'm growing my hair now for the Locks for Love program. My hairdresser told me about the program and I decided to participate. I've been growing my hair out for about a year now. I need 8-10 inches to cut. My hairdresser will put my hair into a braid and cut it, rubber band the top and send it in. I have one more inch to go.

This gives me a reason to grow it out and I 've had medium length hair for years, so I'm not afraid to cut it off and start again. I told my hairdresser that is what I will do from now on as long as they can use my hair.

I think the Locks for Love program is nation wide. I bet there are plenty of other programs. Just check with your hair dresser or call around to your local shops.

I have my hair long enough now, and most of the way through it I started growing out the bangs. It has been so long since I had shorter hair, and much, much longer since I have not had bangs, that I don't know how I want to cut it. It doesn't help that i don't want to go back to the stylist who last cut it -- a major style change and a new hair dresser in the same whack! But it is driving me nuts now -- it is time.
