I was too lazy to find the Italian Beef thread from last week where we talked about this BBQ recipe. I lost my original copy so had to get it from my sister this weekend. Here it is:

Crock Pot BBQ Beef
3 lbs. beef stew meat
2 green peppers, seeded & chopped
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
2 Tbsp. chili powder
2 tsp. Worchestershire sauce
1 & 1/2 C. chopped onion
1 6-oz. can tomato paste
1/4 C. cider vinegar
2 tsp. salt (VERY NECESSARY)
1 tsp. dry mustard

Layer ingredients in crock pot in order given. Cover & cook on high for 8 hours. Stir mixture w/wire whisk until meat shreds. 12 servings.

I'm the kind of person who generally skips over the salt step in a recipe, but this one needs it.

Enjoy!

This would be a perfect opportunity to try out Bunzels. I drove past it yesterday, it's at 83rd & Burleigh.

I made the Crock Pot BBQ Beef and thought it was really tasty and really really easy. I have only used my slow cooker a few times so am still need to test how hot it is. Mine must cook quite hot because it was definitely overcooked and it turns out it was cooking for 10 hours when the recipe called for 8. I think next time I will try on low.

As far as taste and smell though it was really good once I picked out the burnt pieces.

Thanks for posting that recipe

Can't you just buy... stew meat? It comes here labeled as such. Nice little chunks.
