View Full Version : The Sopranos Family Cookbook
Epicurious gave this book a rave review. The reviewer said it could be THE primer on Italian cooking. I don't watch the show but apparently if you are fan this book is also alot of fun. Just curious if anyone has this book or has looked at it. You can read the review on Epicurious. I likw their reviews alot-especially where they say what percentage of recipes you'll actually use!:) The Soprano book got a 35% use rating which is pretty high. Alot of books get a 10% rating! Just thought I'd share.

I read through it at the book store. It was absolutely hilarious -- totally satirical. I guess the Epicurious review means the recipes are pretty good too.

has anyone made any recipes from here yet? I was looking at the ricotta pie with pineapple recipe to make once I get back from holidays here in Canada.

I got it for Christmas. As an avid Sopranos fan, the little stories are hysterical. I haven't made anything from the book yet though. I'm trying to take a break from large cooking projects (please don't kick me off the board for saying that!) since I did all the cooking over the holidays. I'm sure this won't last long though! I'll post reviews for anything I try.

I also received it for Christmas (actually I received 3 copies) I am a Big Soprano fan, I guess that is no secret to my friends, anyway I have not made any of the recipes yet, but the stories in the book are hilarious and any fan of the show would enjoy having it. I'll post as soon as I do make some of the recipes

Did we scare Swedish Chef away?
I don't have the book, but I love the Sopranos. I might buy it during my next Good Cook club membership!

I got it for Christmas. I absolutely loved Artie's "interview" with Carmela, especially the last part about the ricotta pie :)

Oh, my. I just checked swedish chef's profile and now I understand why her post disappeared from this thread. She was banned from the BB! Not a real swedish chef. Oh, well.

Swedish Chef was an intruder and a menace. As a result, Maelynn banished him.

Val, I'm so glad we have Maelynn to keep our boards so friendly! I didn't realize this thread was old until just now. The commotion seems to have occurred when I was at my last job and was not spending much time on the BB. I missed it. Good thing, I guess!

Anna, What happened to the cute picture of Emma?
Ok, back to thread. I will have to check out this cookbook the next time I am at the bookstore.

Don't know about the Swedish Chef, but I was going to ask about the Sopranos cookbook too. I just ran across it in an ad and was wondering if it was a serious cookbook or not. I'll have to check it out.

Since I Created the post I have tried several recipes and found them very excellent and easy to cook. I have made the veal Marsala and Ceaser salad and I think a vegtable dish. I look forward to trying other. What I like best is that the recepies are not complicated, yet excellent. I would recomend the cookbook.
