View Full Version : Your favorite recipes from Oct 02 CL ?
Ack! I'm so behind...
:o
I'd like to get through the October CL "efficiently" so I can move on to November quickly (and then December before it's 2003 already!!!!!)
These are the recipes I flagged as potentially yummy. I did read the past threads on these but would love to know if you only made 3 of these which would they be? What would you NOT make again?
Thanks!
:D
Cajun Oven-Fried Chicken OR Spicy Oven Fried Chicken
Chicken Pasanda
Baked Potato Soup
Ragu Alla Bolognese with Fettucine
Chickpea and Spinach Curry
Grilled Grits with Chicken-Apple Sausages
(and the reviews were unanimous - I am definfitely making Smokey Turkey Almond Mole.)
And then for dessert (what's your favorite ONE?)...
Baked Apple Rings with Caramel Sauce
Apple Crostata
Chocolate Lava Cakes with Pistachio Cream (couldn't find a lot of feedback on this one...)
Thanks in advance!

Oct 02 was my favorite issue in a long time...so many good recipes. Our favorite were:
Walnut Rosemary Loaves (Have made these three times!)
Open Faced Turkey Sandwich with Apple and Havarti
Baked Potato Soup (Easy and so good....I have made this several times for lunch)
Chicken-Pasta-Mushroom Dish (I didn't see any reviews on this but I love it...DH has thrown it together for dinner a few times and it is always warm and comforting)

The only thing I tried from your list was the Baked Apple Rings with Caramel Sauce. I thought they were really delicious (especially with ice cream)!
I would also highly recommend the Chicken with Pecan Cream and Mushrooms.

Ditto on the Oatmeal Molasses Bread, Mexican Ham and Bean Soup and the Chicken in Pecan Cream Sauce. Seems to me I made a couple of the veggie dishes, but I'm at work and I don't have the issue with me.

The only one I have made from your list is the Baked Potato Soup and I definitely recommend it.
I can also recommend:
Macadamia Butter Cookies
Fettucine with Cashew Cream
Dried Pear and Cardamom Scones
Curried Butternut Soup (though I know others on the BB have other butternut squash soup recipes they prefer)
Potato-Kale Soup with Gruyere

of the ones you listed, I would say that the chicken pasanda is a "must try."

Like Val said the chicken pasanda is a must, and of the things you named I liked Baked Potato Soup and Grilled Grits with Chicken Apple Sausage

Our absolute favorites:
CHICKEN PASANDA -the best. DH still drools over this!
Smoky Turkey Almond Mole
Baked Potato Soup-I've made this 3 times so far, and each time just a little bit different, but it always turns out good. Real comfort food!
Also good, and worth a try:
Potato, Kale, and Gruyere Soup
Oatmeal Molasses Bread
Rosemary Walnut Bread-unfortunately DH does not like rosemary so I ate most of it!
