Has anyone tried this? or tried baking with splenda...does it leave an after taste?

I bake with it occasionally and I do detect a slight aftertaste. It's not horrible, but there is a lingering aftertaste. I think Splenda would work quite well in pumpkin pie.

I've used splenda in the recipe that is on the can of Libby's pumpkin puree. Instead of using all sugar, I used half splenda and half sugar. It was delicious. I also used egg substitute too.

I used all Splenda in place of sugar. I did not like it because of the after taste. Everyone was split on it at T-day. Those that detected the after taste did not like it. But those that did not taste the Splenda...loved it....and raved about it.
I think the half/half idea is great. I will try that.
