Annual Cookie Party

Every year around Christamas time I go to a cookie party. All the guest are asked to bring 2doz. homemade cookies. When we arrive the guest are given baskets to fill with all their favorite cookies. I have made everything from Martha Stewarts cookie of the year to your basic decorated sugar cookie. I thought this year I would ask you. If you made one cookie for this party (that your cooking reputation would stand behind)what would it be? Thanks for your imput!

There have actually already been several threads on this topic recently, so you'll probably find some wonderful ideas there. Also, if you're new to the boards, Gail put together an awesome list of pointers for navigating the BB most effectively. It's at the top left of the screen right above the post titles. This link, started by Mamasue, has some awesome recipes on it; I already ran off at least 7 or 8 of them.

If you want more ideas, just run an archive search; specify the Great Food Board as the search medium, and type in cookies or holiday baking in the subject box. I'm sure there are a lot more great ideas out there, but I thought this might give you a good start. Good luck!

Chels - I made a batch of raspberry strippers (from the Dec issue of CL) last weekend and they were really yummy, so they would get my vote this year. I'm planning to make 4 dozen for a cookie exchange next week http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Check out the recipe I posted for almond fudge bars on the Holiday Baking II thread's second page. These are really good and look great, as well. Sure to become a favorite! And I'd definitely stake my baking reputation on them...

Also- if I may - if you check out the home page, there is a Cookie Countdown that we are doing through Christmas. A new cookie every day. You can get to it by clicking on the Cookie Countdown logo anywhere you see it throughout the site. We're on Day 7 and counting...
