Does anyone know if the recipe for the Asian Chicken and cabbage is on line? I couldn't find it. I wanted to email to my daughter in law. I can manually type it in, but that's a pain. The recipe was in the November issue.
Thanks

Since my May issue STILL has not arrived, I went back through some other recipes and made this one last night.

This was a very quick and easy recipe and was great for a last-minute-decision dinner.:D I cooked the chicken on the GF and saved a bit of the hoisin mixture to put on the chicken after cooking. I also used broccoli slaw in place of the coleslaw mix and it was wonderful!

Just resurrecting an older thread...

I needed a quick dinner last night and had all these ingredients, so I tried this for the first time. It was pretty good, but I'm looking for suggestions on the cabbage. We liked the chicken (took Chocolate Rose's advice and did on the GF grill), and the cabbage was good, but I don't think I like the flavor of the sesame oil on it. Does anyone have any suggestions for another type of sauce or seasoning to put on the cabbage? This was my first time to try sesame oil (all I could find was toasted), so maybe it's just my taste buds. The DH enjoyed it!

Thanks! :)

Hmmmmm, I really like the flavor of sesame oil and really like it on cabbage.:D

What about just sprinkling the cabbage with some seasoned rice vinegar?

Since the coleslaw is just a side, you could really make it in whatever way you like best. You could even make traditional coleslaw and I bet it would be good with the chicken.

Thanks, Chocolate Rose, for the suggestion! I'm new to all of this Asian type cooking at home (we are famous for doing take-out at least once a week!), and I'm trying to find, buy and learn the ingredients. I'm wondering if there is a difference between toasted sesame oil (what I found at my grocery) and just plain sesame oil? Maybe it's just an acquired taste I have not yet acquired!

I will pick up some seasoned rice vinegar next trip and try that. Thanks again! :)
