I am dying to try making the chocolate layers with crushed peppermint candy on them. I think I saw a recipe like that but my searching abilities are not so hot. Can anyone help?

You read my mind. I'm making peppermint bark tonight with any luck! :D

I got the thread by doing a keyword search for peppermint. I searched "titles only" because I recalled this specific thread, but you can also search text of threads.

Hope this helps, and welcome! :)

I made the epicurious recipe from that thread, and it has gotten rave reviews. The only suggestion I have is to chop up the peppermints finer than the "coarse" that they recommend. They stick in the chocolate better, and don't get as stuck in your teeth.

This is my first post, so I hope it looks okay.

I have a tip on making chocolate peppermint bark. I've made 3 large batches this year and I've found that using the "old fashioned" type of peppermint candy works better for me than candy canes or starlight mints. It seems to give it a better flavor and to not be as crunchy. I crush mine very finely in a food processer and save a bit to add to the chocolate layer and to sprinkle on top.

In case you are not familiar with old fashioned peppermint candy, that is what it is called, so look for that in the name.
