A Beautiful Christmas Gift...

My grandfather died yesterday morning at his home after a battle with lung cancer. He had been in a great deal of pain and it's a blessing to see him relieved of it. If you guys could just say a prayer for my family, espeically for my grandmother, I would really appreciate it.

My prayers are with you and your family. My mom passed with lung cancer and it is a relief. I do believe they are in a better place. It is very hard for the people who are left here...being out of the pain is a gift for all!

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has offered condolences and prayers so far...we're getting ready to go to the funeral so I won't be around for a couple of days and I wanted to go ahead and thank everyone for their kind words.

Yes, it is a beautiful gift! My grandfather passed away this summer after being ill for several years so I understand the mixed blessing.

I will be praying for you and especially your grandma. My mom's mom died a few years ago and then grandpa (her husband) died 10 days later :( :( . It was so hard for all of us, but especially the spouse, obviously.

Knowing that your Grandfather is no longer in pain is a blessing, but I know that losing him, especially at this time of the year, is very, very painful. I lost my grandmother to brain cancer on a Sunday morning as I heard church bells ringing. I totally understand the gratefulness for their peace as well as the sadness for their loss.
