I ran across a great baking tip the other day that I thought I'd share. When you bake something in a bundt pan or other deep pan, it's hard to test the whether the contents are done since a toothpick won't reach to the bottom. In that case try a strand of uncooked spaghetti. It works great and has saved my baking on several occasions.

Thanks for the tip. I have a metal tester that is pretty long but sometimes my CRS is in full bloom and can't remember where it is (I store it in the top of the kitchen string spool but forget) and you're right about some pans being too tall.

I must laugh... one of the basic items my kitchen is lacking is a toothpick. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif I've been using shish-kabob skewers for years now to ***** my baked goods...

oops! CENSORED
I guess I should have said "test my baked goods"...

A method I've used for years is this: When I buy a new broom, I snip off a couple of bristles to use use as testers. I rinse them off after use & re-use another time.
But the spagetti is always handy. Thanks for the tip !
