I live in South Jersey and would love to take part in a supper club that you put together in Phila area. I think yours would be the closest one without me starting one on my own. Let me know how it goes!!!!

I am excited to hear you are interested in participating in a supper club! I love to cook different types of food, try different types of restaurants, cuisines, and just enjoy. My goal is to have at least 3 persons commit to participating in the supper club before we have our first meeting. I welcome ideas and contributions about the club. I hope we can have 3 committed members by the end of March, and perhaps have our first supper club meeting in April. Please let me know if you would be ready to meet early April and if you have any ideas on where we could first meet and about the supper club in general.
Thank you for your interest and hope to hear from you and see you soon!!

I believe we have four persons, including myself ready to start the supper club! GREAT!! Let's talk about when and where. I propose a location that is good for all, not too far from anyone. We have two from Delaware County, one from South Jersey, and one from Montgomery County (me). Any ideas, please email me. We can try to meet for the week of March 24th, evening-weekday or weekend, whatever the preference. LET'S DO IT!!!!!!!

Email me with your ideas.

Thanks for being part of the first Supper Club meeting!
We had a great turnout. Seven persons joined us for our first meet. One of our members chose the restaurant, which we all enjoyed. We will be alternating between going out to eat, and hosting and/or cooking in. Our next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, May 4th @4pm with a Mexican "Cinco de Mayo" theme. One of our members will be hosting and the rest of the members will bring a dish/dessert/drink to the meeting. I will generate a list of the items that will be needed and the members can choose what they will bring. If anyone has any ideas on what will be a much needed item for the "Cinco de Mayo" theme meal, or volunteers to bring an item, please let me know. I will email directions to the next meeting place and a phone number within the next couple of weeks directly to all members.
Thanks again Everyone!!

Happy Cooking and Eating!!!!

You are welcome to join the group!
We currently have about 10-12 members, but we can never get everyone to come to one particular event. We usually go with the majority, which turns out to be about 7 members.
We always have a great time.

I will be posting the information on the next gathering, tentatively scheduled for August 2nd. I will add your email to the supper club.

I hope you can join us next time.

Unfortunately, Elena will be working most of the summer out of town and will not be able to host our next supperclub gathering in August. We should still try to have a BBQ, picnic type event before the summer is over.
Let's try for one of the two following dates:
Saturday, August 9th @ 6 or 7pm
Saturday, August 30th, @ 6 or 7pm
Please let me know which day and time you prefer and we will go with the majority.
I also need some ideas of where to have it. We should probably have it outdoors if possible (a park), with contingency plans if it rains (park with covered picnic area). Please email me with some ideas of a place we can gather that is rain friendly.

Below I have listed some typical BBQ, picnic items.
Please let me know what you can bring, or if you have any other ideas of what other items could be included.
If you can bring something else not on the list, also please let me know.

Plates, cups, utensils, napkins
Summery, fruity alcoholic beverage
Fruit salad
Burgers and buns (condiments)
Hotdogs, sausages and buns (condiments)
Chicken wings (mild,hot,or plain)
Green salad
Pasta Salad
Bread and spread or salsa
Cheese and crackers
Nonalcoholic beverages (soda, juice, iced tea)
Wine

NEW MEMBERS WELCOME!!

Thanks to all of you! Enjoy the summer!
Happy Cooking and Eating!!

Thanks to our gracious host Monica. We had a wonderful time Saturday, October 25th at her place. Lots of food! We had a small group attend. I hope we can get more people out next time.

Our next supperclub meeting will be at a restaurant. We are considering a Sports Bar by the name of Chickie & Pete's. There are a few locations to choose from (15th St. and Packer Ave.
Philadelphia, and 4010 Robbins St., Philadelphia). The cuisine is American & Seafood. The holiday season is starting and we all have other gatherings to attend. Hopefully we can have a good group attend in November. The dates we are looking at are Saturday or Sunday November 15th, 16th; Saturday or Sunday November 22nd, 23rd. We can meet for late lunch/early dinner 2-3pm, or dinner 6-7pm. Please let me know which day (Saturday or Sunday), date (15,16,22 or 23) and meeting time (2-3 or 6-7) you would prefer. I would tally it all up, and make arrangements.

Thanks a bunch!

Hi Everyone!

Only a couple of members made it to Chickie & Pete's Saturday.

The seafood was good, spicy with lots of garlic! I really liked the bread too.

Afterwards, we went to Old City to check out Plow of the Stars.
The weather was great! We were able to sit outside and enjoy the ambience.

Thanks Linda and Elena for coming.
We missed you Jo.

Linda suggested she would host early next year, and she would like to make it a wine tasting gathering!
That sounds like fun!

I would like to host for December. Someone suggested a dessert gathering for December.

What do all of you think about dessert? Everyone can bring something sweet.
I will cover some drinks, the paper products, and some hor'devoures (spelling??).

We are looking at Sat or Sun, Dec. 20th, 21st, 27th or the 28th.
We could do early afternoon(2-4) or evening(6-8).

Let me know which day (Sat. or Sun.) you prefer, which weekend date, and time (afternoon or evening). We will go with the majority.

In the meantime, Happy Cooking, and Eating!!

Hi Everyone!

Thanks to those of you who came to the December supperclub gathering.
We only had a couple of members attend.
It seems that this time of year is hard to get a good group together.

We had lots of goodies!
Thanks to Linda and Reena for joining us.

We are considering one of two restaurants for the January supperclub,
a new Indian Restaurant in the Norristown area or an Italian restaurant in the Manayunk area.

We are looking at the following dates for January:
Saturday Jan. 17th, Jan 24th, or Jan 31st @6pm.

Please email me and let me know which restaurant you prefer, as well as what date is best for you.

We are also considering a, bring a friend along gathering, for the January and/or February supperclub to help expand the group.
Let me know what you think.

HAVE A WONDERFUL NEW YEAR!!

We have chosen Saturday, January 31st @6pm for our next Supperclub gathering.

We have chosen a new Indian Restaurant "Aman" in Norristown, PA to try.

It will also be a "bring a friend along" gathering.

Please email me and let me know if you and/or a friend will be attending.

In the meantime, HAPPY COOKING!

Hi Supperclub Friends!

Thanks to those of you who came to try the new Indian Restaurant "Aman" in Norristown, PA.

The food was very good. The food was arranged family style, so we tried different dishes like chicken, shrimp, lamb, and different breads. We all had great desserts. The mango juice was great also.

We have not decided on what to do for the February supperclub gathering.
We usually have someone host an event every other month. If anyone is interested in hosting in February or March let me know. Otherwise, we can pick another restaurant for February.
Any ideas, please email me.

Thanks!

It will be a wine and appetizer gathering!

Everyone who participates please bring a bottle of wine and an appetizer.
I will email those of you who will be attending with the address and directions to Linda's place. Linda lives in Wyndmoor, close to Chestnut Hill.

I have only heard from a couple of you.
Please email me to let me know if you plan to attend and what you will be bringing.

Hi,

Would your supper club be interested in 2 or 3 new members? We have participated in a very small supper club group for slightly over a year, but due to life situations, one or two of our members are no longer able to participate. We're looking to join a larger group if you are interested in a few new members. We're on the Jersey side of the Philly suburbs, so we probably be most likely to attend/host the gatherings on the Jersey side and the restaurant outings in Philly. Please let me know if you are interested in accepting a few new members if your club is still active. My email is pumpkyn27@hotmail.com. Thank you.
