I'm a little unsure. I wanna make the Texas Sheet Cake and I might actually have the right pan.

I think the typical jelly roll pan is 15x10 inches so that one is too big.

As someone said in another thread, I have made the Texas Sheet Cake in a 13x9 and I like it better that way becasue it isn't so thin.

I always thought that a jelly roll pan was 10x15", but I'm not sure. If you're just asking about the shape (deepish cookie sheet with rim all around) then yes, that's what a jelly roll pan should look like. :)

that is what I meant gertdog ... the actual style ... not the size ...

val, i intend to do it in a 13x9 too ... i have more use of that if I have to buy one

How high should the lip on the pan be for the cake? I'd say mines about 1/2inch.

I have a 10"x15" pan that we have always called a "brownie pan" in our family, but I did use it to make a cake roll once. I do use it as a cookie sheet, but my regular rimmed cookie sheets are 11"x17", and the rims are not as deep. I make granola and coffeecake in the brownie/jelly roll pan, but I wouldn't make them in a cookie sheet. The pan you have is good, because it will be more flexible in its uses.

Just saw your question. The rim on my 10x15 is 1 & 3/8 inches deep.
The rims on my cookie sheets are 7/8 inch deep. If your rim is only 1/2 inch or so, I would not try to make a cake in it.

I had a feeling I couldn't. Just didn't make sense to me. I'll look for one over the weekend when out shopping. Thanks.

Never having made a Jelly roll, I can't comment on that. BUT if you are looking for the style of pan (picture from Williams etc) you can buy the same type pan at Sams or Costco. They are packed 2 together, and are very inexpensive. Look before you buy! I use these pans for cookie sheets as well.
