The sugar pie thread has inspired me... My husband and I enjoyed a white chocolate bread that was served at the resort we went to on our honeymoon a few years back. It was a crusty white bread with bits of white chocolate melted throughout. Does anyone have a recipe for something similar? I tried to replicate it once in my bread machine but it was no where near as good--you didn't get enough chocolatey taste.

Here is a recipe I found. Maybe it's close to what you're looking for?
WHITE CHOCOLATE BREAD
1/4 cup warm water
1 cup warm milk
1 egg
1/4 cup butter, softened
3 cups bread flour
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
1 cup white chocolate chips
Place all ingredients (except white chocolate chips) in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select cycle; press Start. If your machine has a Fruit setting, add the white chocolate chips at the signal, or about 5 minutes before the kneading cycle has finished.
AND
White Chocolate Cranberry Bread from Chocolatier Magazine
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2t. salt
1/4t. baking soda
5 ounces white chocloate, coarsley chopped
8T. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
3 large eggs, room temp.
1/2 c. buttermilk
3T. orange juice
1t. orange zest
1t. vanilla extract
3/4 c. dried cranberries, coarsley chopped
Position rack in center of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees. Lightly butter a 9X5
inch loaf pan (or two smaller pans). Dust with flour and tap out the excess. In a medium bowl, using a wire whisk, stir together the flour, salt and baking soda. Set aside, Melt the white choc. being careful not to burn it. I do this in the microwave. Set aside to cool. In a 4 1/2 qt. bowl of a heavy duty electric mixer using the paddle attachment, beat the butter at med. speed until creamy, about 2 min. While continuing to beat the butter, gradually add the sugar 1 T. at a time until completely incorporated into the butter. Beat in the eggs, one at a time. Using a rubber spatula, scrape down the sides of the bowl and beat for 1 min. more. At low speed, beat the buttermilk into the batter.
At this point the batter will look curdled. Add the melted white choc., orange juice, zest and vanilla to the batter and mix just
until blended. At low speed, add the dry ingredients to the batter 1/3 at a time and
mix until blended. Stir in the chopped dried cranberries. Scrape the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 70-75 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Remove bread from pan and cool on a wire rack.

Wow, I had never heard of white chocolate bread, but I think I will be trying these recipes! Thanks to Lorilei for posting and for hshaner for asking!

Thanks again, Lorilei! That's twice today you've come up with an answer for me. Again, I think the first recipe is probably closest, as it was a yeast bread, not a quick bread. Though the cranberry version sounds good, too.

Has anyone made the White Chocolate Cranberry Bread posted by lorilei? This looks great, but would like to hear from someone who's made it.
Thanks!

OK, I made the White Chocolate Cranberry Bread from Chocolatier Magazine today and it is awesome! It made 3 mini loafs (5 3/4x3 1/4x2 inches each). The batter just barely fit. Bake for approx. 40 to 45 min. I baked for about 46 min., but I had to open the oven door a few times because my oven light is out. It's not overly sweet and has a wonderful texture. I had to take a taste while it was still warm, because I couldn't wait! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif
I used Baker's white chocolate, Land O'Lakes unsalted butter, and fresh orange juice and zest. It takes a while to make, but it's worth it. I have 1 square of white chocolate left, so I was thinking of melting it and drizzling it over the 2 loaves I'm going to give away.

I have been making the white chocolate bread (the first one, sans cranberries) all week this week... It's a dense bread and the white chccolate doesn't taste like white chocolate in bread... kind of just gives it a creamy texture in places where the chips melted. It's really good, though, and I'm giving loaves out as Christmas gifts. I put less cinnamon than called for, though.
