Hi,
Are either or both of you planning to go to Birmingham/Atlanta for the CL getaway? I didn t see your votes but was hoping you would be able to make it. If you can t or don t want to, I understand; it will be a real struggle for me to make it there myself (so much to do, so little time...) http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/rolleyes.gif , but I d like to try! It s only that you have made such contributions to this board and are obviously wonderful people. I would love to meet you in person, and am sure I m not alone on that!

I second it. The trip would not be complete without the "grand dames" of the bulletin board. I say "grand dame" as a form of admiration, and not implying that either of you are old!

Actually, Wendy, I prefer the term "domestic goddess" http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif .
I don't know if I'd consider myself a "grand dame" or "domestic goddess" where the CL boards are concerned (I've learned so much from everyone else!!!), but thanks for the nice sentiments Natasha and Wendy.
As much as I would love to make this trip, I just can't. Our time and financial resources are limited, so I feel that I really need to spend what time/money is available with my family and friends. We live 10 or more hours away from all family and most friends, so we tend to use our vacation time visiting them.
If the meeting place had been within driving distance, the time/finance problem would not have been an issue. So, if you all decide to meet in Chicago next year, count me in!!!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
In the meantime, I'll keep reading about your plans and living vicariously....

You know, I've got to say one thing: the past months on this board have been a real ego boost. My head has swelled to such gargantuan proportions, I doubt I'd be able to fit it in a plane.
In all seriousness (brief though these spells may be) I am intensely flattered that you even noticed my absence, but no, I wasn't planning to attend. My husband's work schedule being as hectic as it is leaves little time for the three of us to spend our time as a family, and the few vacations we manage together are extremely precious. Much as it would be fun meeting you folks in person, I just don't see it in the cards right now.
Thanks for asking, though, and I hope you all have a wonderful time!
