I am looking for a little side salad/cole slaw recipe and seem to be in the mood for one with an asian flare to it. I saw this recipe on the main site and I was wondering if any of you have tried it. Also, I seem to remember seeing another asian cole slaw recipe somewhere that had uncooked ramen noodles in it. If anyone has that recipe and can share it it is greatly appreciated.
Thanks and Happy Earth Day!

This is one I've made that even DH, who hates cabbage, liked. We thought it would be really tasty with grilled or sauteed chicken tenders over it.

Here's the one we like. The addition of the mandarin oranges makes it different.

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
1 bag pre-cut coleslaw mix

fresh ground pepper, to taste

Combine dressing ingredients in a jar with a lid. Shake it up and refrigerate several hours.
Just before serving stir in dressing, nuts, and crushed Ramen noodles. (Serve immediately once ramen noodles are added.)

We make that Chinese Slaw, often modifying it depending on what we have in the house, all the time. DH loves it and requests it. I like it because cabbage tends to stay fresh in the fridge longer. Look forward to making lots of it this summer.

Thanks for posting -- and recommending -- the Chinese Slaw. I've printed it out and put it on my list for next weekend.
Cheers,

Linda - I made a salad similar to yours the other day & I sent DH after Oriental Flavor raman noodles. He said they don't make an oriental flavor - so he got beef. I made it wihout the flavor packet & just subbed soy sauce. Still very tasty.
Just wondering if DH missed the oriental flavor, or if you might use another one.

Leanne, I'm pretty sure I used Oriental, but I think I've used chicken flavored also.

I just tried the Oriental Coleslaw and we loved it. It was even good the next day even though the ramen noodles were no longer crispy. Thanks Linda for posting the recipe.
