Hi, everyone. I was just wondering if anyone else out there uses Dale's as much as I do. I would love to know what you use it for. I was also wondering if it is just a southern thing????

My favorite thing to do is to marinate salmon in it. My SO really likes it on a filet or ribeye. I also, though, (bear with me for a second before you become disgusted http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif) have done wonderful things with it with tofu and even eggs. Please share your suggestions!

I love Dales seasoning too. (I'm also from the South)

Pork tenderloin and chicken are great with Dales!

This is my favorite summertime recipe:

Cube 2 yellow squash, 2 zuchinni, 1 small purple onion and one red bell pepper. Marinate in 3/4 cup fat free Italian dressing and 1/4 cup Dales. Grill in a Wok-topper basket on the grill. We love this!

A Dale's fan checking in from North Florida. In addition to marinating steaks with it, I like to mix it with ground beef and Lipton onion soup mix for delicious hamburger patties.

Laden, that veggie recipe sounds delicious!

Dale's seasoning is like a really strong soy sauce with some spices added. You can brush it on a chicken breast while cooking it and it tastes like you've marinated it for hours.

Laden, that sounds great! Ohioan--Dales is almost like a soy sauce-type marinade/sauce that is found in most southern supermarkets like Harris Teeter and Piggli Wiggly. It has zero fat or calories but unfortunately lots of sodium. It is unbelievably versatile--if you can find it, I highly recommend you give it a try!

Okay, I give up and show my ignorance -- even though I lived in Texas and Louisiana for a total of eight years. What's Dale's seasoning, what flavor family is it in, and what are the ingredients? Tell me more!

Cheers,
Phoebe

I live on the east coast and have never seen this, but it sounds like Yoshida sauce, which you can get here.

I'm in Atlanta - we use Dale's all the time. It seems to be the perfect marinade for everything! I had no idea it was a Southern thing. I feel sorry for the rest of the country! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif

You can pull up their website @ dalesseasoning.com. They're a Birmingham company but distribute all over. Their website will tell you where you can purchase it.

I am intrigued! Thanks for the website address.

Also, my sister's name is Dale and it might be cute to send her some stuff from Dale's.

Yep. It's my dad's secret for his almost-famous pork tenderloin recipe. He combines equal parts Dale's and orange juice, plus a couple of cloves of crushed garlic. Marinate for a couple of hours, slap it on the grill, slice and swoon! :D

I found it at Central Market with the other marinades. It's easier to find in the South East than here in TX, but it can be done!

I brought a bottle back from South Carolina six months ago and never opened it. Guess I'll pull it off the shelf and give it a try.

Here's a link to the website:

http://www.dalesseasoning.com/

It tastes a lot like a cross between soy sauce and liquid smoke. It's a lot like another popular marinade called "Allegro".
