Yes and no. If you turn it off you don't get the emails, but you also can't track the threads you're active on by clicking the "user cp" button. And since that is the way I like to stay active on threads I've commented on I turned it back on...so yes I probably have a bunch of emails about this thread. No biggie...it's always been that way.

What are you up to?

05-17-2003, 08:52 PM
Well, I just read through most of the first page.....when I have the strength I'll look at the rest.

Cool about getting the computer at home  .
I'm waiting for Monday so I can go to work and get some rest   ;) .

I have been running around all day like a crazy person. Our subdivision had an all-neighborhood yard sale so Randy and I went out walking this morning and looked at some stuff. Didn't find anything we needed/wanted. Then took Collin for little league team pictures, then took him and his friend to the skate park, then went to grocery shop, dropped Drew off at work, picked up Collin and friend from skating, dropped them off at home, went to sign up Micah for swimming lessons this summer, went to library to get DVD on hold, picked up Drew from work, entertained Micah's little friend for a couple hours, and then took Drew over to his friend's house to spend the night. And in my free time, talked w/ my aunt who called to wish me a happy birthday and talked w/ my dad. Also cleaned kitchen and did a load of laundry. Am I done yet!!!???
This is my first time even coming near the computer all day
Hopefully tomorrow I can relax :D

I am pretty good. Looking forward to the long weekend. I am taking today out of the field to do my workbook thing for work. I think I picked a good day with all of this rain. Nothing else really. I can happily report I am not the stress bucket I was last week :)

Did you see that Sue and I are partners in the swap? I was at Border's last night and forgot to look but I was thinking maybe something from Common Grill or the market. I am pretty sure they will have the best selection there.

Alright! We've had some complaints about rowdy behaviour over here. What's this about consuming mass quantities of alcohol? And you over there -- yeah, you with the Starbucks cup. I've been keeping an eye on you too. You seem a little jittery. Hmm, just the caffeine, eh? Yeah, right.

OK, I'm not going to shut down this party just yet. But try to keep it down to a dull roar. The neighbouring threads have been complaining about the noise. Not to mention the mess. Who's going to clean up all these bottles and coffee cups? OK, let's see some volunteers to clean things up once the party ends. I'll be sure to make a note in my report indicating who was cooperative. You don't want to end up in the "other" part of my report...

I'm going to continue on my beat, but I'm warning all of you. I'll be checking in on you.

But ossifer, hic, it's just, hic a widdle party....

But what if the Canadian spelling was just a red herring to keep suspicion away from the true poster? Hmmm... my guess is that it was Mrs. Peacock in the kitchen (where else? :D ) with the candlestick.

Peggy, you around for the last drink? Since you started this madness, it's only right that you get to finish!

Well, here I am... though I'm not an evil twin...

I had some spaghetti!
All covered with cheese!
But I lost my poor meatball
When somebody sneezed!

It rolled off the table
And onto the floor
The last time I saw it,
It rolled out the door!

It rolled into the garden
And under a bush -
By then my poor meatball
Was nothing but mush!

:D I used the word "mean" because that's specifically what Maureen called me once for making fun of her typos. :p Then I figured, well, I don't know Kristin all that well -- what if she thinks I'm calling her mean and gets insulted? So I went and changed it. :) :D

It’s time to bid farewell
It’s time to leave it all
So pack your bags, and make amends
This is where it all ends for me.
Farewell to it all
That’s what I’m sayin’ to you
Won’t you listen?

It seems hard to say goodbye
I barely said hello
There are things I will always miss
Things that I’m not through with…like you!

Farewell to it all
That's what I'm sayin' to you
Won't you listen?

So this is what it’s like to
Say goodbye…

So pack your bags, and make amends
This is where it all ends ...

Hey, go away!

There's a sad sort of clanging
From the clock in the hall
And the bells in the steeple too,
And up in the nurs'ry an absurd little bird
Is popping out to say "coocoo".

Regretfully they tell us,
But firmly they compel us
To say goodby to you.

So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehn, good night,
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight.
So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehn, adieu,
Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu.

So long, farewell, Au'voir, auf wiedersehn,
I'd like to stay and taste my first champagne
So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehn, goodbye,
I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye,
Good bye

I'm glad to go,
I cannot tell a lie.
I flit, I float,
I fleetly flee, I fly.

The sun has gone to bed and so must I
So long, farewell, auf wiedersehn, goodbye,
Goodbye,
Goodbye,
Goodbye!

Yorkshire Pudding? She said she was leaving us for a while, but is she really?? She's British, and Canadian spelling is adapted from the British. ;)

As I sit in this smokey room
The night about to end
I pass my time with strangers
But this bottle's my only friend

Remember when we used to park
On Butler Street out in the dark
Remember when we lost the keys
And you lost more than that in my backseat

Remember when we used to talk
About busting out - we'd break their hearts
Together - forever

Never say goodbye, never say goodbye
You and me and my old friends
Hoping it would never end
Never say goodbye, never say goodbye
Holdin' on - we got to try
Holdin' on to never say goodbye

ps. Leigh, that quote from Ginger is absolutely adorable (I remember you mentioning it on a Klatch).
And Peggy, it's only right that you had the last drink :)

pps. OK Erika, I believe you! I thought of YP too - but I really do think she's taking a sabbatical. And Natasha said it wasn't her either. Hmmm, I also thought of Shirley Ekstein, but she didn't post anywhere else on this thread, so I don't know if she was even following it. Not that I want to accuse anyone else of course...

Thanks for the compliments on the quote. The teacher's ask the kids what they want to say and just write it down. Ginger's not always the best at the dinner table, but she does pretty well and it's nice to know she appreciates my efforts in the kitchen. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy in side. The little certificate it's on is stuck to the front of my fridge (and it's not coming off either!)

Ahem. Thanks Canice (I think). So, great dilemma -- do I post and thus (in the minds of the incredibly and unjustifiably suspicious) further incriminate myself, or not write and pretend I didn't see Canice's left-handed compliment?!?!

Well, guess you can see which option I chose.

Seriously, it ain't me! I already hate having to sign in as Natasha and Natasha3 depending on where I am, and I am way too flaky to remember THREE logins. It's all I can do to remember two!!! Plus, I never created an evil twin during that time when they were all the range, so I think that should count for something. No?
