Now that the holidays are over I interested in knowing what everyone's favorite recipes were this holiday season. Which ones are you going to put on your "have to make next year" list!
Mine would have to be the Raspberry Strippers and dinner rolls. I know dinner rolls sound odd, but this year I made the dough in my breadmaker with a butter(light) recipe and I guess because they were so fresh they really got great reviews. In fact I'm sure I'll be making these recipes before next year!

Hello,
I always say that I am not going to bake as much as I did the year before. This year it seems as if I baked more than I ever have. I made a lot of mom's cranberry bread (posted on cooking light's BB), peanut brittle, peanut butter chocolate balls, Mexican cookies, Santa' cookies, and baklava. This does not include Christmas dinner.

I have to agree with Karen - that Mom's Cranberry Bread is too good - I have probably made about 10 or more loaves! Made Whipped Shortbread a few times and a couple of other things. The best of all was the Basil Shrimp with Orzo - have doubled and tripled that 3 times over the holidays - I just love that recipe - made modifications with white wine and garlic - absolutely fantastic!

I tried and loved the Citrus Cream cheese pull aparts. That will be a staple from now on. I also loved the Raspberry Strippers and Pumpkins Streusel Bread.

Sherry-
Here's my butter rolls recipe. It's very easy.
6 to 7 oz of milk
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup of water
1/4 cup butter (I used light spread)
1 egg
3 and 3/4 cups of bread flour
2 Tbs sugar
2 tsp. of active dry yeast
I put everything in my breadmaker on dough setting. When done I take out and roll into thick logs and tie into a knot. Makes about a dozen rolls. I put on my (lightly greased) baking stone and cover with clean towel for 1 hr to let rise. Bake 350 degrees for 20 min.
I think it's because they're so fresh that they are so good. But if you wrap in tinfoil and reheat them they're good too!

For me too, it's the Raspberry Strippers -- although I prefer them made with apricot preserves. Either way they're delicious -- they've bumped pecan tassies (regular or light) out of first place as my favorite holiday season treat.

Thanks Tiger. I am not a great bread maker, so I am always looking for fail proof recipes!

My favorite new recipes were a brined and roasted turkey (from FoodTV's "Good Eats") and Cinnamon and Lemon Frosted Biscotti from CL's November 2000 issue. I also made a new Cherry Oatmeal cookie that was incredible (definitely NOT CL!!)
Melman, the cherry oatmeal cookies have my mouth watering, I afraid to ask (because of the calories) but will you please post the recipe.
Leanne, I love pecnas. What are pecan tassies?
I guess this means I really better start exercising more this year!

They're like miniature pecan pies. Bite-size, so everytime I walked past them, I ate one (or 2)!

I made citrus cream cheese pull-aparts christmas eve for my family and we also had them Christmas Morning with my husbands family, they were a hit and an absolute repeat for years to come.
Both families also liked the rasberry strippers and an iced ginger cookie recipe somebody else posted on the board! YUM

OK - speaking of peacn tassies - a freind brought some over for us this holiday season & they were the best thing I have ever put in my mouth! (Previously, I had no idea what you all were talking about when tassies were mentioned. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/redface.gif)
She gave me & my mom the recipe - there were maybe 6 ingredients total & that included the crust! One of her crust ingredients was cream cheese. Has anyone ever heard of using cream cheese in a crust? It works & it works well.
