Does anyone have a good method to clean the non-stick spray buildup from cookie sheets? My fairly new, extra-strength dishwasher isn't able to remove it, and only if I really scrub as hard as I can for a very long period of time with very hot water can I MAYBE get it off.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

We have actually had VERY good luck with scouring pads (for NON non-stick surfaces) and nylon scrubbers for the nonstick ones.

DH usually does it, and it doesnt take long with some hot water!

Good luck http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Kim- I have that problem a lot. It really helps to scrub the pan with hot water and a nylon scouring pad BEFORE putting it into the dishwasher. (I know it's like you're washing it before letting the dishwasher wash it) but the dishwasher seems to "bake" it on there.

Also try a paste of baking soda to scrub it off. That always works if it's already baked on.

To avoid the problem, just use parchment paper to prevent sticking and spraying. If that is not convenient, you can also line the pan with foil, and spray the foil. Food or spray hardly ever even touches my cookie sheets since I discovered parchment paper.

I have a good tip for cleaning baked on food to pots. You put an used fabric sheet softener in the pot, fill it with water, and let it sit overnight. In the morning it just whips off! I just used this last night. I burnt milk. Uggh!

Goo Gone. You buy it at the store. It's in a little bottle and is orange. It works on all kinds of sticky stuff (the city stickers in the car windshield that won't come off, the price tags that won't come off, etc.). Goo Gone and some scrubbing with one of those nylon scrubber things, and it should come right off. Good luck.
