View Full Version : Anyone have a "Chillow"?

Anyone out there ever tried something called the "Chillow?" It's a device that you insert inside your pillowcase, that supposedly keeps the pillow cool through the night.

I came across this product in the "SafeHome" catalog, and if it does what it claims, I will be the happiest girl alive. But, of course, I don't want to end up throwing my money away if it's just a gimmick. So I'm skeptical.

Here's a website (http://www.chillow.com/chillow.htm) with some information -- anyone have any feedback, good or bad?

I'd never heard of this, but found one review on epinions.com. (http://www.epinions.com/content_98190659204)

Helene, I would be psyched too if it worked. Although I'm kind of skeptical too. Gives a whole new meaning to the expression "Cool as the underside of a pillow," huh?

Well, it's guaranteed, Helene so if you didn't like it you could return it within 30 days. That's long enough to figure out if it works as described I would think.

My fiance has a chillow and he swears by it! When we travel he has to bring it with him or he can't sleep. Before he got it he would always toss and turn at night because he would be hot and he could never find a cool spot on the pillow. Well he got the chillow and now he sleeps great. It keeps his head cool all night. He loves it! Even though it is soft and rather thin, it does add a tiny bit of firmness to your regular pillow. Just something to consider.

Excellent! Thanks for the good word, Meg, and to everyone who responded.

Seems like it's worth the $30 to try this thing out. The firmness issue won't bother me -- I've spent years trying to find the firmest pillow out there, anyway.

Susan, I'll report back and let you know how it goes.

Hmm, I've never heard of such a pillow. With my luck, I'd get brain freeze from it. :o

Sounds like a cool idea though.:D :D :D

Helene,
Sounds good to me! Report back to us when you try it.
I saw on the link you posted that Dr. Love recommends it on an Oprah show :)

Wishing you cool nights!

I've never heard of this before but I bet my husband would love it. Sounds like a good fathers day present!

If anyone's still looking for a Chillow, they're on sale at drugstore.com (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=77866&catid=44690&brand=26530&trx=BSMMP-26530&trxp1=HPFP&trxp2=0&trxp3=77866&btrx=BSMMP-26530) right now for $19.99. Just wanted to pass that along! :)

Did anyone ever get one? What do you think of it? I've thought about it a couple of times over the summer, but really it has been so mild here I didn't feel like I needed one.

Glad this thread reappeared.

I had every intention of ordering one, but somehow placing the order never made it to the top of my to-do list, and then I got busy planning for our Guatemala trips and Victor's homecoming.

But on sticky summer nights (and there have been far too many of them here in Boston recently), I think longingly about the Chillow. Maybe it is time to place that order.

:)
