I received some key lime curd sauce (from Rothschild's)at Christmas with a recipe for tiramisu. It calls for 16 oz. of cream cheese and 8 oz. heavy whipping cream. Any suggestions for lightening this up? I figure I can use low fat or no fat cream cheese (maybe 1 of each), but I'm clueless after that. Help!

Funny you should ask because I have two high fat Nieman Marcus recipes that I am going to post and ask for suggestions to lower the fat. As I was searching for an answer I came across the following link is for the cook's thesaurus website:

Hope it helps, I think you may just have to experiment.

Dearly, could you please post your recipe. I love key lime pie, and key lime tiramisu sounds even better http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Sherry, the recipe I am trying to lighten is as follows:
16 oz. cream cheese
6-8 oz. Rothschild's key lime curd sauce
8 oz. heavy whipping cream
4oz. Espresso or strong instant coffee
1-12oz. pound cake or ladyfingers
cocoa powder
powdered sugar
Whip heavy cream until thick and set aside. Mix softened cream cheese with key lime curd sauce until blended well. Combine whipping cream with cream cheese mixture. Slice pound cake (or use layers of ladyfingers. Layer plastic wrap in 6x11 dish so as to allow removal of dessert. Sprinkle bottom of dish with cocoa powder. Place a layer of cream cheese mixture in bottom of dish. Arrange pound cake slices or ladyfingers on top of filling and brush on coffee. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Repeat layers until complete.
Place in fridge until chilled (1-2 hrs.)Slice into squares and top with whipped cream and additional curd sauce.

Sherry, if you can't find the key lime curd sauce, the website is RobertRothschild.com and you can order it from them.
