Manhattan Metro Supper Club!

Hi there!

Well after attending another fabulous CL supper club event last night, I met this lovely lady and we have decided to try to start up another supper club in the manhattan area. If anyone is interested, please post here!

INTERESTED!!!!! I have been trying to find people who cook in Manhattan, I did not think that there would ever be a Supper Club here, not many cook. My husband and I are very interested in participating.
Where was the supper clube event that you attened - the one in the city hosted by CL?

Erin we went to a dinner held by CL in the time life building. You can read about it on the "great food" board. :D I'll follow up in a couple of days as far as getting started with this!

Being fairly new on the boards, and totally new to Supper Clubs (and thinking I might not be the only one)... can you lay out a little more what this entails?

I don't want to commit to something and be in over my head! :)

Lynne (and everyone)-

Basically a supper club is a group of people who get together at designated times (around once a month) and have dinner. Either the dishes are made in advance or the cooking is done in the home. Each person/couple is responsible for a specific dish. Each month is a different "menu" or "theme" and each month is done in a different home.

Marlies (my co partner who is away this week, but will be contributing soon) and I will be chiseling out details as we get interested people together. Each supper club has their own "rules of the road" and structure.

So far our only rules are:

1)Apartments large enough to host a supper club group (right now I think we're up to 7-8)
2)Singles or Couples

I'm going to be setting up a yahoo group so that we can get this set up. The yahoo group will be able to let us set up calendars, files, photos etc. I'm excited!

Thanks for the answer! Now I just have to figure out if I can get 7-8+ in my apartment, and talk to DH and see if we want to commit! :)

Whether we do or not, this sounds so fun and like such a great idea!

Trying to figure out the same thing. Could I seat 7 -8 people in my apartment confortably. I may have a better time fitting everyone if I do not do a formal sit down if it was more like buffet.
However, my DH and I would still like to participate!!!!
So JeAnne please keep me posted!!

hi, i'm also hoping to join a supper club in NYC--i was part of a group in Bayside, Queens 2 years ago but since moving to NYC, am hoping to find a group in the area. is there still room?

Sorry I've let the ball completely drop. The woman who was originally interested lost her job, so she's busy looking for work. My step sister died almost two weeks ago now and I just feel I have to focus my energy right now.
