OK, I bought some clementines and was going to make the dutch baby recipe in the Dec.'00 issue. It says to bake some of the ingredients in the oven for 25 minutes, but in a skillet. The only ones I have, have plastic handles, is that safe? It says to wrap the handle with foil, but not sure if I can make this with my pans.

I have the same problem and have avoided these types of recipes because I assume the plastic will melt.

Why don't you try using a baking dish, rather than a skillet? Or a round cake pan?

Most of my pans are not oven safe, so I usually transfer ingredients to another warmed casserole dish or oven safe pan before I put it in the oven.

I have always put my plastic handles skillets in the oven without even wrapping them in foil. I pot handles are not the same type of plastic we are used to. I have never had a problem.
