I'm ashamed to admit it but I have never bought curry powder. I live in a small town so not much of a choice here but I do go to Cincinnati frequently. Does anyone know a good brand to try and where I can get it? Any input would be appreciated!

Nullsy, I bought several different varieties from Penzeys (best quality, in my opinion). We have a Penzeys store here in my area, but they also have a website from which you can order. (www.penzeys.com)

Anyhow, in answer to your question, I MUCH prefer the Maharajah curry powder of all the ones Penzeys has. It is flavorful and mellow, and not sharp or harsh or strong. I love it, and actually, you remind me that I need to get some more, as I'm almost out!!

We don't have real great choices in supermarkets around here, either. I ordered several types of curry powder from Penzey's. Their site is located at http://www.penzeys.com

I've had good luck with all the spices that I've ordered from them. There have been several threads posted about spices ordered via the internet. If you do a search on "spices" or "Penzeys", I know there are some out there.

Thanks Grace and Sue! It looks like Penzey's is the place. I think I'll try the Maharajah one you suggested, it has the characteristics I'm looking for. Thanks again!
