PERMISSION TO CROSS-POST
This is a Pointer Rescue Org. (PRO) transport, and it will be monitored. PRO is a nationwide rescue group for purebred English Pointers. You can access info on this non-profit group and all available dogs at this website www.pointerrescue.org

Assistance is needed in transporting Henry, a 3-year-old male English pointer, going from his current foster home in Barnwell, SC to his new foster home in Jacksonville, FL. We only need the first leg to get Henry to his new foster home. Please cross post to anyone you know in the area that might be able to help. Henry's picture can be seen here: Pointer Rescue -- Henry

The legs are flexible, just tell us where you can pick up and how far you can drive. The time estimates are shown to give you an idea of the time frame the transport would be arriving in the area and are estimates only, depending on the schedule of the drivers.

If you are able to help please contact the transport coordinator, Jenn, at . Please email me directly as I belong to many lists and I would hate to miss an offer!

Thanks everyone! )

I've participated in this type of thing before (with golden retrievers) and it's a great way to help out! Unfortunately I live on the wrong coast to help this time (living in St. Louis before was a lot more in-between places).

Hope Henry gets to his new home soon!

That's great that they break it up so no one has a huge trip to make. I'm too far to help out too, but hope you find a ride for him.

I can't help either but wish I could. I have heard of this before where they break a trip for the dogs into "legs" so that several people can help in the driving. I think that is a great idea.

I was all set to volunteer, but seeing where the lucky dog :) is going, Connecticut is a bit out of the way...

Let us know how it goes!

I'm also to far to help, but I thought I'd do this

to play with peoples heartstrings and get Henry a ride!:D

He is beautiful!

Thanks for your thoughts, Hopefully Henry will get his ride soon. It is such a great idea the way they break up the legs, but it sounds like Barnwell, SC might be a small rural town, so it may be difficult. Heck if I lived in Atlanta since the trip is only 2hours each way I would go up and pick him up! Maybe I should have posted the heading - All of you who live in the Barnwell, SC/Atlanta area, Henry the foster needs a ride to his home!

Repost it Laurielee with the area in the header -- that might help. Just put a link to this thread to get the cute picture!

I grew up in Barnwell, SC! I just called my family, and no one can do it. I wish I could help, but I live too far away. :(
