Scars from oven burns!!!

Anyone know how to diminish the appearance of burn scars???....I have one on my thumb that bugs me.

I have some discolouration scars on my hand from oil burns. They won't go away, but when I was still healing, cocoa butter helped. But, if you have healed, it may not help much.

Rosehip oil is great for helping to reduce scars - but it depends how old the scar is. Scars "set" after two years, so essentially you have two years to get it as good as you can.

I usually make a blend using lavender, neroli, yarrow and german chamomile, in rosehip and another carrier oil. It works great on new scars. But I do have the advantage of being an aromatherapist and having all those oils sitting there waiting to be used!

Vitamin E in liquid form. You can get it at Whole Foods. That's what I put on my chicken pox scars when they were still new. I got it as an adult - badly.....

Mederma is expensive, but good. It is smelly since its made from onions. I used it on a surgery scar and it did wonders. A little goes a long way. If you help the scar now, you may have less discomfort later. I have a toaster oven scar on my hand that hurts in the winter. I didn't go to the doctor when I should have.

I second this. I've used Vit E very successfully to diminish scars, and have also heard positive feedback from other people I know. Even a Vit E cream will work -- I've seen this at Health Food stores.

I have seen something on TV called Medurma (sp?). It is supposed to reduce the apperance of scars. YOu may have to ask a Dr.
