I just bought some and I'm not sure I like it. Does it get easier to apply? And why does my upper lip feel like it's sweating. (ok not the lip, but just above it)

I use it and like - never had the "sweaty" feeling I have to say! I don't find it hard to apply but I got a pretty dark color so I do have to be careful to "stay within the lines" as it were but I never thought it was difficult or anything. Might just take some getting used to?

i never used lip stain from the body shop, but i use a lip stain from urban decay (http://www.urbandecay.com/ProdDtl.cfm?ID=20). i LOVE it! i hate lipstick because i always end up rubbing it off. and the long-wearing ones dry out my lips. so stains are the perfect solution.

it is a little tricky to apply. i have found the method that works best is dabbing it on in small bits and then rubbing your lips together to blend if you need to. i keep doing this until i get the desired intensity. it is neat because you can wear it super sheer or really dark and dramatic. then i either top with a gloss or chapstick to give a little moist look. make sure you start with dry lips and exfoliate them if they are a little chapped. they should be smooth to start with. never just draw it on like a marker because it will be too harsh, and if it is too dark it is hard to get off. start by dabbing it on lightly and go from there.

i have never noticed a sweaty upper lip though!

Thanks for the feed back. I'll give it a couple more days trial and then decide. I'm not sure if I'm crazy about the color, but I've been experimenting with more layers.

I got all geeked about Urban Decay's lipstain - but when I hit the website all the colors except one are out of stock!!! Bummer!

Peggy, what color did you get? I'm looking for a nude-y type color. I should check to see if we have a Body Shop here in GR (probably not, this is a shopping black hole).

debie it has a reddish tint, but so far it is too pink for me. I have an Aveda color that I like to wear when I have on red shirts. ( I wear a lot of red) and I was trying to find a neutral red, I think I'm going to have to go back to the Aveda color.

Isn't that the way it goes - some reds are tooo bright, and some are too pink. I have a hard time finding lip color that has a blue-ish base that is flattering to my skin tone.

Another thing we don't have in GR - an Aveda store.

I believe there is another "De-twaa" shopping trip in my future . . .

Bummeri know you wrote this a month ago, but the urban decay lip ink (stains) are back in stock! also sephora.com carries them- urban decay lip ink at sephora.com (http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P36733&shouldPaginate=true). the trick with any lip stains are to layer them. start out very light and work in layers until you get a color you are happy with! have fun!

I always think lipsticks are too bright with my pale skin or they wear off too soon. Has anyone used the ligher stains? Can they look subtle?

Debie, there is a Body Shop in the Woodland Mall (in Grand Rapids) :)

tee hee hee! Hi Mary!!!:D

I've tried the Woodland Body Shop and haven't liked their lip colors. There used to be a Sephora in Woodland, and I loved it 'cause there were so many cosmetic lines available there.

I'm getting the urban decay trial pack (I think) and I'll let you try some!!
