DH and I used to LOVE to camp. We are getting to the point that we dont really relish spending the weekend sleeping on the ground (or NOT sleeping!). I have been SEARCHING for rustic cabin rentals in the PIney Woods area of Texas either in the woods or ona lake. Everything is "luxurious" with "air conidtioning", "cable tv" "sleeps 8"....I basically would like CAMPING, but in a CABIN instead of in a tent. Does anyone have any ideas on how to find a rustic cabin to camp in????

Are there any camp grounds in the area? They may have cabins...? Or state/federal parks.

That is what Im looking at right now. So far I find RV or tenting, but no "cabining" (our cute term:))

What about KOA campgrounds? They usually have some rustic cabins for rent. I've never stayed in one, but D-ex-H used to take DD camping at KOA all the time.

Kim,
This isn't exactly rustic but it sure is cute and would be a wonderfully romantic "camping" trip:

Will be back with others...

OK, found one more place in Cut'N Shoot that lists cabins but doesn't have any pictures but the rates are cheap!

Thanks for the help everyone:)

WOW Susan:) Isnt that picture perfect???? DH is trying so hard to help me not be homesick...one of the things I miss is camping in the fall (something my extended family does together) so he thought if we found a little place we could go "cabining" when it cooled down, it might help:)

I look forward to researching these places:)
