Does anyone know of a SIMPLE way to learn about Access? I am struggling trying to get a database started. My present hurdle is that I need to know how to create a combo box that will display a list of items. Ideally, I would like to be able to select the item I want from the list and if the item is not there I would like to enter the item into the combo box and it would be automatically added to the list.

I hope someone knows what I'm talking about. It's difficult to explain since I'm so new to this.

Thanks much...

Norma -

I'm not an MS Access guru - far from it! In fact, I'd also love to find a "quick and easy" way to learn more. I haven't taken a look at any of their tutorials for MS Access, but this site (www.findtutorials.com (http://tutorials.findtutorials.com/index/category/104)) has been helpful when I was learning more about JavaScript and HTML. (The link should take you to the MS Access category.)

Good luck! :)

Thanks so much, Shirley. This site does look interesting. I can't work on it until later today but I'm excited to see if it can help me. Looks like a great place to find all sorts of help.

You might take a look at www.ed2go.com - they have an Access basics course that you can take on-line. I have worked with Access for several years - took this course after I had pulled most of my hair out and I found it very helpful. I also bought a book by IDG called Access97 Bible and it was very helpful for that version. Send me a PM if you would like me to send you more information on combo boxes.
