Hi all! I'm curious to see if there is a Couples Cl Supper Club in the Northern Virginia area - anyone know of one? We both love to cook and thought we'd see if there was a supper club for couples. If there is not one, would anyone be interested in forming one? I'd be glad to head up the organizing of it. We both live out in the Manassas area, but would consider all of Northern VA.

Thanks and happy cooking!

DH and I would be interested in a Couples Supper Club. To my knowledge, there isn't one in the Metro area. We live in Fairfax; very near the Vienna Metro.

I was in a CL Supper Club last year that met the second Thursday of each month, but stopped attending when the meeting night was changed to Fridays.

Keep me posted. I think a Saturday night would work.

My husband and I are relatively new to the area and would love to join (or help start) a couples supper club. We belonged to one in Connecticut and loved it! We live in Alexandria, right off 395. Keep me posted or e-mail me at ams7ph@virginia.edu

We live in the Manassas area, too, and would be interested in joining a supper club. Saturday's would work best for us.

My wife and I might be interested. We live in Ashburn, and although I do most of the cooking, she could certainly pitch in.

I will run it by her tonight.

hi there everyone! So glad there is some interest in this!! So I guess the main things to decide is the frequency we'd be interested in meeting for dinner (once a month, once every other month) and then what night of the week. Seems so far that Saturday has the lead in that department. And with Saturdays, we won't need to factor rush our into our planning! Once we decide on these two things, we can then figure out who will host first, and then what our menu will be. I like the idea of picking a type of cuisine (thai, indian, italian, etc) and then each couple taking a part of the meal - entree, appitizer, side, dessert, drinks. We could also do other themes like grilling, picnic, winterfeast, etc. Neither of us have done a supperclub before so if anyone has any hints, tips, ideas, pass 'em along! Sounds like this will be fun!

Thanks,
Wendy

Hi everyone! Saturday works fine for us, too. We were members of a supper club in CT for almost two years--lots of fun! What we did was meet in a restaurant for the first month (planning meeting) and go from there. In CT, we met once a month on a "set" date (last Tuesday of the month), so people could plan around it. Just some suggestions, we are open to whatever...

I think Saturday is ideal.

OK Saturday seems to work best for most. Let's pick a place, date and time and get started.

My Fiance and I would love to join a couples supper club. I currently belong to one already and absolutely love it. Although, it would be fun to have a couples evening and we are always looking for couples to do things with.

Saturday nights work for us!

Thanks,
Jen

We are very excited about this so I will try to get this started.

Please vote on which date you would like to meet:

Option 1: September 13
Option 2: September 20

Also, why don't we meet in public the first time, just so that we can meet, discuss, etc. I did this with the other club I am in and it seemed to work well. Since we are coming from all different areas, I figured Tyson's Corner would be the best place to meet. Thoughts? Restaurant recommendations?

Please let us know!

Sept. 20 works best for us.
We could go to Maggiano's in the Tysons Galleria. (food is very good although it's very noisy!)

Looking forward to our gathering!!!!

Either date works for us, except my husband has to work Sept. 20 until about 6:30. However, we should be able to make it by 7:30. Otherwise, I could come by myself (he only works two Saturdays a month). Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Great! September 20th seems to work best for everyone so let's say 7:30pm. I LOVE Maggiano's but I am worried about the noise levels, thoughts?

Also, could you please post or send me your email (mine is NittanyLionPride@hotmail.com) so that I can start a communication chain?

Thanks and we look forward to meeting everyone!

Hi there! My husband and I live out in the Ashburn area and have wanted to join a couples supper club for quite some time. We enjoy cooking and entertaining and would love to meet some new people. I noticed you got quite a response from your inquiry so I don't know if you still have room in your group...let me know.

the more the better, since it is common that everyone will not be able to attend every dinner each month due to other obligations.

looking forward to meeting you, terri

I'm not part of a couple. However, I would love to participate in a supper club in No VA, and yours seems to be the only one active. Is it possible that I could join?

Thanks,
Kim

We would love to join a supper club! We live out at the end of I-66, which looks pretty - but is a cultural and social vacuum. If you have room for us, please let me know! We used to host such dinners at our home before moving - but now we are back at square one and everyone seems too busy to do it. This is a much better option than meeting at the local bar every weekend (the activity of choice around here!)

We are in Strasburg, working in the Plains and Front Royal/Berryville. (Really, the END of 66, I told you!)

Look forward to hearing from and meeting you guys.

If you are worried about noise levels and people aren't opposed to driving a bit....I would suggest Four and Twenty in Flint Hill (outside of Little Washington.) It is across the street from the more well know Public House, but truth be told, the food is much better. It is small and and the menu changes based on what the chef can get fresh from local growers. We would have to make reservations - we may even be able to get a private nook if hte group is larger than about 8.

Let me know if you have any thoughts or want me to look into getting more information for you.

I like the idea of Four and Twenty. I've heard wonderful things about it, but we've never been.

We've never been either. I like the idea of a cozier meeting place. Fewer distractions while we try to get to know each other.

I agree about a more intimate setting, but Flint Hill is quite a hike. If we are the only ones hesitant to go that far out then that is fine, we can go, but if others are hesitant, perhaps we can find a good place a little closer in.

Thoughts?

Is there room for another couple? My husband and I have just moved to the area from Boston where I was a member of a cooking group. We're living in DC, but we have a car and can travel a bit. The weekend of September 20 works for us right now.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Do you all have room for one more couple? My husband and I would love to join. We're in Gainesville. Thanks!

We live in Herndon and would also be interested in joining the NoVA club. A couple of gals and I from my golf league talked about starting something up this fall. Unfortunately, Sept. 20 does not work for us. I propose that we set up an email list. I believe you can easily do that through yahoo.com for this club.

Considering how much interest is in the club, maybe we might divide it up by counties or something like that. I agree with the more the merrier but it looks like there is the potential to be a 40 person gathering.

This is just a thought...for those interested in joining a club around the Northern Fairfax and southern Loudon Counties area, I would be happy to organize it. . Please understand I am not trying to take away from the great momentum you all have going. :) Let me know. My email is lauramcnichol@yahoo.com.

We're a couple interested in Richmond area supper clubs. Anyone want to meet south of D.C.?

got milk?

Hi, my husband and I would be very interested in joining your club also. We live in Fairfax and would be willing to be part of a spin off group by location. I would also be interested in a lunch club if that works better for some of you. I sent an Email to Julie.

Have you all formally started to meet yet? Still room for any new members? My husband and I are relocating from Raleigh and would love to find a new supper club to join - we sadly left a great group in Raleigh.

Hi everyone!
While I just browsed through some of the posts, it seems like there's lots of interest for a club (or clubs!). Has one started up yet?

My fiance and I are relocating to Alexandria, VA next week and we would love to join a supper club. I've wanted to join one for a while but never had any in my area before. Please keep me informed in the developments.

Thanks! Hope to meet you soon,
Jenni
