I just got some beautiful daikon with greens still on them. Usually the greens aren't that great looking but these are and I wondered if anyone knows of a use for them?

It looks like a large white carrot-it is a Japanese radish.

Please share ... my teacher ... LADY of veggies and Nori. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif We still have yet to meet in Columbus when I make a trip to Cleveland --- or Cinti for you!!! You would be welcome in my home mlou.

Daikon greens are rarely use in asian cooking, sometimes the greens are use for pickling, it is mostly the root part that is used mostly, you peel it like a carrot, cut it into small chunks, like you are making a stew, and just simmer the daikon in any asian broth till they are tender, about 10 to 15 minutes. They are eaten as part of main dish soup. I use mostly in Asian clear soup.
