Can someone tell me what the reciepts mean when they call for Fresh breadcrumbs?

I'm pretty sure that it means make your own crumbs from toasted bread rather than use the packaged kind.

Whenever a recipe calls for fresh bread crumbs I just take white or wheat bread and put it in my chopper to make crumbs. I think they are supposed to be soft since the prepackaged ones are dried. Hope this helps!

Occasionally it will call for fresh dried bread crumbs. In fact a chicken piccata recipe I made last night called for that and I just put a couple sliced of bread in the toaster and then put them in my food processor with the rest of the breading ingredients and turned it into a fine texture.
